With Beginnings in North American production and inventory control
APICS has grown and evolved to represent a diverse community of
professionals from virtually every manufacturing and service industry.
The APICS body of knowledge spans all aspects of operations management,
including production, inventory, supply chain, materials purchasing, and
logistics. APICS - The Association for Operations Management represents
a worldwide network of accomplished industry professionals; delivers
superior education, educational resources, and training; and,
administers and controls internationally recognized and valued
certifications.

Our Vision is dedicated to delivering high quality operations
management education and effectively presenting the APICS body of
knowledge. The volunteer board strives to operate the Hartford
Chapter as a thriving, energetic, non-profit professional development
organization. The Chapter's mission is to provide a competitive
advantage for individuals and regional enterprises though exceptional
operations management education.

Founded in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control
Society, APICS has since expanded its focus to include a full range of
programs and materials on individual and organizational education,
standards of excellence, and integrated resource management. To reflect
this new direction, we are now known as APICS—The Association for
Operations Management.
